These rainbow funfetti cupcakes are one of the prettiest treats you can make when spring and summer arrive. We can't think of a cuter way to celebrate the return of warmer (and sometimes wetter) weather!

1. Rainbow funfetti cupcakes recipe: ingredients and supplies

Ingredients: White or Vanilla Cake Mix: Choose your favorite because it's the easiest way to start your rainbow funfetti cupcake journey! Of course, you can also make the batter from scratch (this tends to be faster). Oil, water, eggs: these may be the ingredients you need to make your cake mix. Always check the back of the box! Vanilla Pudding Mix: You can add this to your batter to enhance the delicious vanilla flavor. Sugar drops: Choose your favorite, we recommend rainbow colored ones to match cupcakes, such as our rainbow candy sprinkles and rainbow jimmies bulk.

Tools: Cupcake Pans: You'll need to fill each liner about 3/4 of the way with batter, so you can use however many pans you need (no matter the size). Cupcake liners, large mixing bowl. Food Coloring: Standard rainbow colors, of course you can use other colors for this too. Small bowls: six, used to divide the six colors of the batter. Decorating Bags: This makes it easier (faster and neater) to put colored batter into the cupcake liners.

2. Rainbow funfetti cupcake recipe: the production process

Let me tell you how easy these colorful rainbow sprinkle cupcakes are to make. Like every cupcake, you'll start by prepping all the ingredients and supplies, including preheating the oven to 350 degrees F and adding the cupcake liners to the pans. Then blend all the ingredients together according to our recipe instructions below until smooth. After the batter is ready, you divide it into 6 small bowls. Each bowl should have less than 1 cup of batter. Now color each bowl of batter with 2 drops of food coloring: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.

Baker's tip: Transfer the batter into disposable decorating bags for easier cupcake filling! To fill cupcakes, simply squeeze equal amounts of each color into cupcake liners, starting with purple and ending with red. Make sure your cupcakes are about 3/4 full. Bake in the oven for 15 to 18 minutes. After the cupcakes have cooled completely, it's time to decorate them! Of course, this is our favorite part! You can of course decorate the cupcakes with your favorite candy sprinkles, here we've added buttercream frosting and our rainbow candy sprinkles for decoration.
